Having grown up in a small town in New Brunswick, Rae Healey found her love for the gym when she was 25. She’s a shy girl, one who never saw herself entering a fitness competition, but like with most fitness stories, the change and determination was addicting. Watching not only the physical transformation, but also how sticking to a goal can affect someone on a more personal level, is motivation to keep going. After a year of working out with a personal trainer, Rae decided to start her preparation for her first figure competition. She hasn’t looked back since, each time learning, growing, and achieving small goals along the way. In Edmonton, she is a full time supervisor at a downtown bar, as well as a personal trainer, guiding others with their health, and the importance of taking care of one’s body. Some people set out to win, to get that first place trophy, but each individual show is a stepping stone along the way, with hopes and plans to be better than the one before, while learning about personal growth and balance year round.
